About Us
The Dorchester Agricultural Society was set up in 1841 by a group of local farmers and land owners. Intended to be a showcase for local agricultural produce and animals the Show has grown but not beyond recongition from our early days.
The Society now consists of over 1,000 members and the Show is organised by 9 committees who are overseen by the Management Committee. The Show Chairman is elected every two years at the annual general meeting and the Show President usually stands for two to five years.

The current Chairman is Peter Clark from Blandford. Peter enjoys showing pigs at shows across the country.
Our Show President is Joe Coleman from Tincleton. Joe has been a Show Steward for many years holding the positions of Ground Chairman and Chairmn.
As a registered charity the Society's objectives are to promote agriculture by holding shows.
The Show Office is at Agriculture House, Acland Road, Dorchester and is run by our Show Secretary, Sam Mackenzie-Green.
