Esme was born in Dorset and has lived in the county all of her life leaving only for a short time to live in Sydney, Australia to work for international charity Greenpeace. Esme studied Textiles, Fashion Design and Marketing at Arts University Bournemouth and Art and Design at Bournemouth and Poole College. After graduating Esme undertook a career in Arts Marketing & PR followed by Professional Fundraising for international & national charities, Esme has now returned to the Arts working as a Publicist for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Esme’s first collection of her signature blue, acrylic paintings on canvas, launched in 2012 inspired by moonlit scenes of the Jurassic Coast and Isle of Purbeck. Esme’s passion for the area that she has grown up in is evident in her work, thriving on her imaginative use of strong vivid colours, along with her bold interpretation of the geological shape and form of the landscape and coastline. The Jurassic Coast and Isle of Purbeck continues to provide her with a wealth of ideas for her work.

In 2016 Esme moved into her first studio located in the idyllic setting of Creech nestled at the foot of the Purbeck Hills. The space has allowed her to grow her acrylic on canvas collection and develop her much awaited textile range. The studio has also allowed Esme to exhibit her own work to the public as well the beautiful work of her fellow artists and makers. Esme’s Art & Gift Studio is open Saturdays & Sundays 10am-4pm, Grange Rd, Wareham, Dorset BH20 5DG
