In light of the current environment surrounding COVID-19 we write to inform you on a number of matters relating to The Dorchester Agricultural Society’s activities.

Dorset County Show

We are continuing to plan Dorset County Show; it will remain on its usual fixture date being the first weekend in September, this year the 5th & 6th.   The Show Office and Board of Management are working tirelessly to ensure that the Show can go ahead without disruption.

We are continually monitoring the situation, and will take guidance from the Government meanwhile assuring you that we are fully committed to delivering an amazing Dorset County Show 2020.

Spring Show

Sadly, the 6th Annual Spring Show due to be held at Sunninghill School, Dorchester on the 5th of April, sadly has to be cancelled. Unfortunately, postponement is not an option due to the nature of the horticultural classes which are showcased at this event. The Spring Show will return in Spring 2021; we will notify you as soon as we can with the dates.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM can no longer be held on 15th April, this will be postponed.  We will reconvene, all being well, at the Shire Hall later in the year.  This is the 180th anniversary of the Society and we are delighted that the AGM will welcome Lord & Lady Fellowes’ and the commencement of their term as Presidents of the Society.

Show Office

In line with government guidelines, the Show Office will be closed to visitors.  We have a duty of care to the staff and so we ask that you contact staff by email or telephone during usual office hours.  Please do bear with us during these unusual times.

We will update the website and our social media channels as regularly as we can.  Please do check these for updates.  Emails should be directed to [email protected] and telephone the usual office number: 01305 264249.

Thank you for your continuing support of the Society.
