Dorchester Agricultural Society’s calendar of events for 2021 continues to build pace with the latest announcement for the Dorset Summer Show on the 31st July.
The event will be held at Dorchester Market on Weymouth Avenue, on-site parking, hard standing a large covered space makes this the perfect site to hold an event no matter what the weather might bring. The Show will host the ever popular Homecraft & Horticulture classes from the County Show alongside local food and craft stands, entertainment for the family and atmosphere to relax and enjoy a day out.
Will Hyde – Show Secretary explains “At the County Show we would normally receive over 3,000 entries within the Homecraft and Horticulture classes and we were determined to showcase them in 2021, the new Show has over 200 competitive classes for all ages and abilities to enter. Having local food and craft trade stands alongside make perfect sense and we hope collectively the public will enjoy the amazing display that will be on offer”.
The site has been made available with huge support from Dorchester Town Council, Dorset Council and the Ensors LTD. Held on a Saturday the event hopes to attract people into the Town Centre and enjoy everything the town has on offer, discounted parking on-site will mean people can enjoy the Show as well as walking into town.
Will Hyde continues “we will be monitoring the COVID precautions very carefully and will have any measures in place that are required. Large events are allowed to take place and no risks will be taken – everyone’s safety is paramount. We are determined to hold events this year for our Members and the public to enjoy.”
The Show has a place for everyone; any local business is welcome to apply for a trade stand, there are competitive classes for all ages and abilities or the public can turn up on the day and enjoy everything that is on offer.
